Reporting Crime and Abuse
In addition to prosecuting criminals, crime prevention remains a #1 priority
for the Office of the City Attorney. Neighborhood Prosecutors work closely
with community organizations, Neighborhood Watch groups, and Neighborhood
Councils to provide crime awareness and prevention information throughout Los
Angeles.
Prosecutors are available to assist you in preventing crime in your
neighborhood.

REPORTING A CRIME
Crime reports or other violations of law or court orders must be made to a law
enforcement/ investigatory agency. To report a non-emergency crime in the City
of Los Angeles contact the Los Angeles Police Department, or the agency with
jurisdiction over the violation. Non-emergency crimes include crimes in
progress or other situations that require police response, but that are
non-life threatening, such as loud parties, a group of juveniles loitering in
front of your home, neighbor disputes, etc.
