| Dear Friend:
"Operation Bright Lights" is an on-going community outreach program designed to encourage City of Los Angeles residents to report streetlights in need of repair to the Bureau of Street Lighting. Particular emphasis is given during the months of April and October. Encourage those around you to call 3-1-1 to report damaged light poles, exposed wiring, burned out bulbs, or any other street lighting problems they know about (outside of the City call (866) 452-2489 or (213) 473-3231). The phone number is staffed on a year round basis, so refer to it any time you find a streetlight in need of repair . If you wish to report a traffic signal outage, call the Department of Transportation at (213) 580-1177 during the day. If the street light problem is on the freeway or at an on-off ramp, please call CALTRANS at (213) 897-0383. If you pay your light bill to Edison, they are your service utility. Please call (800) 655-4555 We are also proud to announce that our "Operation Bright Lights" is on the Internet. We can be reached in two ways: E-Mail: streetlighting@bsl.lacity.org or from our service request form.
Sincerely, Ed Ebrahimian, Director
