Cinco de Mayo commemorates the 1862 victory of the Mexican Army
over the French at the Battle of Puebla and is symbolic of Mexican
pride, unity and patriotism. It is an important day not
only for the Mexican community but for everyone in Los Angeles. At
El Pueblo Historical Monument, enjoy live entertainment representing
the various regions of Mexico, a carnival and authentic Mexican
cuisine.
