MARDI GRAS

New Orleans – Los Angeles style!  Mardi Gras is a colorful traditional event which has been celebrated on Olvera Street for decades.  Always celebrated the Tuesday before Ash Wednesday, the event consists of a festive procession led by the Olvera Street Merchants and is followed by live entertainment and the crowning of Miss Olvera Street and the King of Mardi Gras.  Enjoy an evening of rhythmic Brazilian music, Dixieland bands, samba dancers the traditional burning of the Mal Humor and an exciting parade.
