MEXICAN INDEPENDENCE

Mexican Independence Day celebrates the events and people that resulted in Mexico’s independence from Spain, the country that had control over the territory of New Spain, as it was then known.   At El Pueblo Historical Monument, Mexican Independence Day is celebrated around September 16th.  Throughout the weekend you and your family can enjoy live music, dancing, and entertainment, as well as carnival rides and much more.
