Officer Joey Bailey has been employed with the Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) since December 1988. Currently, he is assigned as a traffic enforcement officer with South Traffic Division. Past assignments within the LAPD, have included patrol and collision investigation duties. As a motor officer, he has worked as a member of the DUI team: resulting in the numerous arrests of both alcohol and drug related offenders.
In addition to Officer Bailey normal duties, he is also a Specialized Collision Investigation Detail (SCID) member as an Accident Reconstructionist. Officer Bailey serves as an active member of the Department's Radar Instructor's Cadre.
Prior to being employed with the LAPD Officer Bailey served in the US Marine Corps, at Camp Pendleton, while stationed at his last duty assignment, he also worked as a Reserve Officer with the Oceanside Police Department working patrol.
Officer Bailey attended the Los Angeles County Sheriff's DRE course in 1991 and has been a DRE instructor since 1996.
