Officer Jeffrey L. Campbell has been employed with the Burbank Police Department since December 1985. He is currently assigned to the Traffic Bureau as a Motor Officer. While working with the Burbank Police Department he has been assigned to patrol, and prior to becoming a Motor Officer, he was assigned to the DUI Enforcement Team.
While assigned to the DUI Team, Officer Campbell was able to institute the "Drug Recognition Expert" training into his department. This was after he determined the DUI Team was making very few arrests involving drug impaired drivers. In addition to his normal duties he has been an Explorer Advisor since November 1989.
Prior to being employed by the Burbank Police Department, he was a Deputy Sheriff for two years with the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department and a Police Officer for a year and a half with the Burbank, Glendale, Pasadena Airport Authority. While working with the Los Angeles Sheriff's Department he was assigned to Central Jail and worked several medical modules, which included the PCP/Psychiatric Unit.
Officer Campbell completed DRE training September 1, 1994, and completed certification November 15, 1994. He attended DRE Instructor training March 1995. He has also completed the Cavenaugh and Associates DUI Seminar, the Glendale Police Department's Drug Abuse Recognition (DAR) School and the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department Basic Accident Investigation Training. He has completed several college courses in Administration of Justice. In May 1994, he completed a course through UCLA, titled "Instructional Processes in Vocational Education" to obtain his part-time "Selected Subjects" Teaching Credential.
Officer Campbell is a member of the California Narcotic Officers' Association.
