LAPD STAND Program
Support Training Against Narcotic Dependency (STAND) is a comprehensive substance abuse prevention program aimed at eliminating substance abuse in the workplace. The Los Angeles Police Department provides the business community with experienced, trained and knowledgeable instructors in the area of substance abuse.
 
LAPD trading cards
In 1995 the Los Angeles Police Department produced a set of trading cards. There are forty-nine cards in the set. Each card is different and highlights a person, unit, section, or division within the LAPD. The front of the card displays a full color photograph. On the back of the card there is a short explanation, describing the focal point of the card, and an important message. Each message is unique and is directed at children and young adults. About 50,000 sets of these trading cards, two and one half million cards, were produced.
