Qualified and motivated Park Rangers provide a safe environment and a safe work place for all recreation and parks employees, patrons, and visiting dignitaries in a manner guided by a commitment to responsiveness, quality results, employee safety, and professionalism.

GENERAL INFORMATION

By ordinance, Los Angeles City parks are open to the public from 5:00 a.m. until 10:30 p.m., unless otherwise posted. Several parks or designated areas have been authorized for early closure at sunset. Some park facilities offer equestrian trails for riding horses.

Park space is usually available on a first come, first serve basis for picnicking and other recreation opportunities, but in some instances a reservation may be required. Please inquire about facility information prior to your visit. 

Our on-site auditorium is available for reservation.

Headquarters

Located at the Griffith Park Visitor's Center, 4730 Crystal Springs Drive.

Communications Center

Located at Park Ranger Headquarters, the Communications Center is staffed around the clock to provide callers with a central contact and dispatch center for routine and emergency needs. In most instances, your call will be forwarded to a Senior Park Ranger or Watch Commander who is on duty from 7:00 a.m. to midnight, seven days a week.

Calls from Recreation and Parks facility alarms are received, and the Hollywood Sign security system is monitored at the Communications Center.
